  • Book Reviews - Write a review for Mountain Book Services. Reviews can be on any mountaineering, climbing or outdoors related book.

    Each month we'll ask readers to rate and choose the top review. The author of this review will receive booktokens to the value of £20-00. Two runner-ups, will each receive booktokens to the value of £10-00. Booktokens may at any time be redeemed against purchases from the bookshop.

    Rules: Reviews must not exceed 250 words; must be the work of the author whose name it bears, and will only be accepted if submitted by email.
     

  • Photo Contest - Minimum value £100-00 cash, plus monthly booktokens! Readers are invited to submit photographs depicting any aspect of mountaineering, climbing or related activities to the Mountain Photos Contest. Each month a "Photo of The Month" will be chosen by you, the readers. At the end of each six month period, you will be given an opportunity to select "The Mountain Top Photo" - Monthly winners will receive booktokens to the value of £10-00.

    Winner of "The Mountain Top Photo" will receive a minimum of £100-00 in cash.

    Rules: Photographs must be the work of the photographer under whose name the photograph is submitted. All photographs must be submitted in electronic format - preferably TIFF format - 16.7 million colour, scanned at 100dpi maximum.
     

  • Short Story Contest - Minimum value £250-00. Write a short story, on any aspect of mountaineering or related activities. The best three each month (chosen by a panel appointed by Mountain) will be published. You the reader will then be asked to judge the Best Short Story of the Month. All "Best of the Month" Short Stories will be entered into the Annual contest, judging of which will again be done by a panel appointed by Mountain, and taking into consideration the judging of the readership. The Annual Short Story Winner will receive a minimum of £250-00 in cash!

    Rules: Short Stories (1200 - 1500 words) submitted for consideration shall not previously have won any short story contests, and shall not concurrently have been entered for any other short story contests, in any format whatsoever. " All work must be original, that is, the author's intellectual property, and must be submitted via electronic mail.
