The shot is of me and Matthew (son) on the summit of Stok Kangri.
Note our gear: We are goretexed up to the eye balls, placcies, crampons, axes etc.
Now look at the Ladakhi guides! Trainers and clothes from Oxfam! All they did if it was cold was roll their sleeves down, if hot they rolled them up. They looked like 12 year olds and were as hard as nails.
They washed and shaved in the mountain rivers every morning and must have thought us a filthy pair :-)
